Top Guard President Nicole Stuart was honored as a 2014 YWCA Woman of Distinction. Her recognition read in part: “As President of the largest private security company
in Hampton Roads and the region’s largest woman owned business, Top Guard’s Nicole Stuart is a role model for all women. Through innovations in staffing, training, and quality assurance, Nicole has expanded the company from 140 employees in 1996 to more than 600 now. Clients include the City of Norfolk, HRT’s Tide, TCC and VDOT, as well as DOD and DOE. Nicole received Inside Business’s Entrepreneurial Award in 2009, the Roaring 20 Fastest Growing Firms in Hampton Roads in 2010, ODU’s 2012 Entrepreneurial Award, and she is a founding member of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, Nicole served as the chair of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red” campaign emphasizing women’s heart health, and she also serves on the boards of Transitions Family Violence Services in Hampton and First Book of Hampton Roads. For 15 years, she has sponsored scholarships for victims of domestic violence. Her company Top Guard, also routinely provides free protection services for churches providing seasonal shelter for the homeless.” Congratulations!
