Top Guard Awarded Security Contract for Mid-Town Tunnel Project
Top Guard Security has been awarded a contract for security service in connection
to The Downtown Tunnel/Mid-Town Tunnel/Martin Luther King Freeway (MLK) Extension, formerly known as the Mid-Town Tunnel Corridor Project. The project is located in the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth, and is comprised of a new two-lane tunnel under the Elizabeth River parallel to the existing Mid-Town Tunnel; maintenance and safety improvements to the existing Mid-Town Tunnel; minor modi cations to the interchange at Brambleton Avenue/Hampton Boulevard in Norfolk; maintenance and safety improvements to the existing Downtown Tunnel; and extending the MLK from London Boulevard to Interstate 264 (I-264), with an interchange at High Street. Top Guard will be serving the projects construction team composed of Skanska USA Civil Southeast, Kiewit Construction Company and Weeks Marine.
